The most popular BWA female wrestler of all time, Jodie Lee had a global following with a multitude of adoring Fans. Jodie was crowned the `sexiest legs in the ring` while her natural ability drew comments from the top names in the business. The legendary Lady Satan declared Jodie was the strongest opponent she had ever faced. Sue Brittain believed Miss Lee would have a glowing future as a professional wrestler and future Champion. That title finally came in 1983 when Jodie Lee defeated Terri Kruger to become the BWA Ladies Champion. Jodie successfully defended her belt for the following two years.
Tall, powerful and beautifully built, Jodie's popularity and respect as a wrestler was to increase over the years. Jodie became a regular feature in Swish Publications magazines, and eventually had her own regular column in Fighting Girls Monthly where she gave readers her own views of the sport.
Like most Wrestlers, Jodie has had her ups and downs during her long ring career. While proving victorious in most of her contests, Jodie will also freely admit to taking several sound beatings along the way. "That's wrestling" was her usual comment after a tough bout. " Win or lose, I`ll give it my best shot " This down to earth genuine attitude from this gorgeous Lancashire lass from Bury, is typical of a true ambassador to the sport.
Even though she tried desperately hard to recapture that elusive title belt, Jodie always remained high in the top ten of the BWA Ratings. After suffering a serious back injury, Jodie`s professional ring career came to a sudden end in the early 1990`s. For the next few years her name was only connected to the less aggressive apartment style.
Jodie Lee did make a surprising comeback appearance in April 2004 when she took on the UK`s Top Female Wrestler Pippa L`Vinn. Her prowess and ability were still apparent even after all these years away from the sport and regular training. Jodie`s entrance was greeted with cheers and rapturous applause as the fans offered their support.
Although officially retired from competitive wrestling, Jodie still intends to make the occasional ring appearance. In her own words " I probably won`t be able to walk for a week after a bout, but I still love the thrill of it all, wrestling`s in my blood "
Her many fans will applaud her comments. No doubt about it, Jodie Lee will always remain a famous icon in the world of women's wrestling.
